Manager - Projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the Lead Role for both technical and administrative issues within a group of project engineers and technologists while understanding and meeting the client’s expectations of projects of varying capacities and styles.
  • Responsible for managing the workloads within the team and coordinating workloads with the other managers and their teams.
  • Responsible for providing technical input on a variety of projects working in conjunction with your project engineering team.
  • Attend design reviews on various projects and provide technical input.
  • Provide mentorship with respect to mechanical engineering and design.
  • Assist in the Quality Management process with respect to the systems and processes needed to provide a superior engineering product.
  • Overseeing and reviewing the design Calculations and verification with respect to facilities, well site and pipeline design for projects executed by their team.
  • We anticipate that the successful candidate will become a Responsible Member with APEGGA and affix permit stamp to various projects after technical review.
  • As part of the senior management team, the successful candidate will be encouraged to assist in Business Development as well as growing his/her Engineering Team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering coupled with Professional Designation through APEGA with a minimum of 10-15 years of engineering experience preferably in Western Canada in conventional and/or unconventional gas as well as conventional oil. SAGD experience would be considered an asset.
  • Confident interpretation of and a complete understanding of ASME, CSA and API design codes.
  • Familiarity with software such as Piper, Pipe Flow, Caesar II.  Proficient in Microsoft Office; particularly Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with gas compression, dehydration, refrigeration, pipeline systems, oil treating, oil storage and handling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively with all clients, both internal and external.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent ability to coordinate and prioritize work and meet short deadlines.
  • Self-motivated. Able to work well in a team environment but able to work independently.
  • Supervisory and/or management experience will be considered an asset.
